21ten Theatre’s mission is to cultivate community by producing intimate theatre, arts events, and educational opportunities that move and challenge artists and audiences.

21ten Theatre is a professional theatre company located in SE Portland dedicated to building community, fostering artists, and producing excellent work.

Our 40 seat house is perfect for telling thoughtful, character-driven stories—audiences are consistently amazed by the emotional impact of seeing such high-caliber work presented in an intimate setting.

From Mainstage shows, to stripped down BareBones productions, to guest performances presented by sister theatre companies, to workshops and readings of new work, to classes and mentorship opportunities, we are a home for theatrical expression of all types.

We were founded in 2021 on the core pillar of true community.

True community is the sense of deep camaraderie and connection that comes out of knowing others and being known, fully, for who you are.

With this as our guiding principle, we strive to be a haven for theatre artists and theatre lovers to come together and share an intentional space.

We see ourselves as community builders examining the human condition through the great tradition of storytelling.

Land Acknowledgement

21ten Theatre acknowledges that our theatre resides on the traditional territory of many nations including the Clackamas, Cowlitz, Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians,
Confederated Tribes of Grande Ronde, Cayuse, Umatilla, Walla Walla, and the many others who have stewarded this land for generations, and have been forcefully removed by colonization. We recognize both the land and the Indigenous people who lived — and continue to live— on the land now called Portland, OR. We intend for this land acknowledgment to be a conversation starter, and for our community to continue to research the history of the land we occupy today.
